Federal Tax Pie Chart

Federal Tax Pie Chart

When I speak of our plant, of course, I mean the United States Government. I think we can really thank our elected federal officials for doing a fantastic job of bringing home the bacon. Visit the website of the U.S. Government for the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance and you will be surprised that the U.S. Government spend your tax money.

We do not ourselves?

The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance website proudly reveals that the electorate is a pie chart in which Americans must marvel at the work done for them by their elected officials. This graph inform him "… a complete list of all federal programs available to state and local governments (including the District of Columbia) the federally recognized Indian tribal governments, territories (and possessions) of the United States, domestic public, quasi-public, private and non profit and nonprofit organizations and institutions, specialized groups and individuals ".

The pie chart (1 May 2009 updated) lists:

34% of the Department of Health and Human Services
21% Department of Agriculture
19% of the Interior
12% of the Department Education
11% of the Department of Housing and Urban Development

Bringing Home Bacon Too?

A catalog search of the Federal Domestic Assistance website yields of 63 agencies. While some make perfect sense for their existence, others will definitely make you ask. Other searches reveal 1893 and 3229 programs listed at the regional offices. One might argue the point that this is a demonstration of both the government and the excess patrician profitability. I'm sure you can list a series of recent anecdotal examples of government excess and wasteful spending of your own style circles friends, colleagues and clients.

Perception is reality

While I am confident that our federal politicians could, through of double-speak, to justify each agency and program-which would have, or why these agencies and programs that exist? However, I think Americans more reasonable and would make a curious double take at the way our government spends our tax money.

Even if many of the agencies and programs justified, I think not, there is still deep-rooted perception of U.S. citizenship gross government waste, incompetence, and protectionism. Does this mean that everyone who works for the government is incompetent? Of course not! I have known and worked with a number of government employees committed they are great at their jobs, many of the supervisors, not quite.

The important issue

What I said in my seminars and workshops for years, "If you hire an employee of shit, you deserve that you hired." The same goes for elected officials. We have done ourselves. Just to mention some examples: single issue voters, voters uninformed, the ignorant and uneducated voters, voters in denial, waiting voters reciprocity of their vote, exclusive party voters, and (my favorite) the sole interest of the voters.

At some point, society must stop sewing more nipples to the plant community. Our seed only be allowed to suck a lot of pre-plant dries. I think that day may be soon approaching.

Our responsibility to give a portion

I received a reply from Paul Knecht about a recent comment I made. Paul says that to give, "No There is a rule. It taught the Jews first and still teaches those who practice Judaism and Christianity. The landowners and their collectors are said that not all harvesting of crops, but to make a stand for the poor, widows and foreigners can also harvest. There is an expectation that those share with the have-nots'. "

While Paul makes an excellent argument, the question is how to leave behind the poor harvest? My argument is the idea of voluntarily leaving a little for the poor but rather the fact that the various taxing entities (federal, state and local governments) thefts in the U.S. a percentage of the crop itself scandalous. The example of Paul, to my knowledge, does not say exactly how much to leave, and I can not imagine a farmer leaving a 30-40% of the poor crop harvest. This is the "total fee" in which the vast majority of Americans are taxed success today.

Pendulum swing

A society should help those who are truly and honestly in need? I think so. However, only because one of his heels of the feet, which does not need a $ 900 ambulance ride to the hospital, a walk and an emergency room visit is paid by taxpayers premises. In a society where the benefits to the needy, surpassing the earnings capacity of fitness, something that is really bad. The sow is definitely too teat many.

The question is, "How did we get where they are?" Perhaps the answer is that for many it was easier and more convenient to write a check to the needy than to give them a hand? Then, it was necessary to pay people to organize the handling of controls. Then came a time controls was expected. Today, the checks required!

At some point you have to stand up and say "Enough!" At some point too has to say "enough" to politicians. Politicians see their work as responsible for "bringing home the bacon". Do You? Perhaps the time has come so that Americans no longer give those who only ask and refuse to do?
