What forms do I fill out to receive the tax credit my first home buyer time.?
I've done my tax return for 2008 and the need to submit an amendment. I know there is a 1040X and a 5405 form that must be filled. Is that what I do? Is it necessary 2 ways to attach my original 1040. Do I have to mail in? How long does it take? Any help would be great. Thank you!
Everything you need is the Form 1040X and 5405 however is a good idea to include a copy of the declaration of final closing of the house shows the date, your name and the purchase price. It is must provide a copy of the original return as the IRS already has that information.
